What is Star Wars Galaxies?
Star Wars Galaxies (often abbreviated SWG) was a Star Wars-themed MMORPG developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts for Microsoft Windows PCs. The base game, titled Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, was released on June 26, 2003 in the US, November 7, 2003 in Europe, December 23, 2004 in Japan, and in 2006 in Australia. The base game was upgraded with three major expansions since. On June 24th, 2011, Sony announced that Galaxies would be shut down on December 15 of that year.
What is Star Wars Galaxies Pre-CU and why bring it back?
Star Wars Galaxies Pre-CU (Pre-Combat Upgrade) refers to the game as it was played during and prior to the publish 14.1 of the game, just before the "Combat Upgrade" (CU) was implemented.
Many SWG fans agree that Pre-CU was the high point of the game, while the CU update and beyond changed the game for the worse. We wholeheartedly agree which is why we're here. It is our goal here at SWG Reckoning to bring Pre-CU Star Wars Galaxies back to the masses while also striving to provide the best possible play experience for our community.
Which server emulator do you run?
We run a customized version of SWGEmu's Core3.
Is running a Star Wars Galaxies server legal?
Yes it is. SWG Reckoning does not use any server code that was written by Sony Online Entertainment. All code was written from scratch by SWGEmu & Reckoning developers. All code is licensed under The GNU Affero General Public License(AGPL).
How do I connect to your server?
To play on our server, you will need a copy of the original Star Wars Galaxies client. An Empire Divided, The Total Experience, or The Complete Online Adventures is required. Copies of the game are still available at most major online retailers. Please click here for a full guide on how to connect.
How do I make an account?
The game and website account system are linked. You can register on the front page of the website or click here.
How many accounts can I have?
You can only have one account. Each account provides 8 character slots & up to 2 characters online at the same time. Exceptions are made for family, roommates, and others living in the same household. Please keep in mind that we do monitor this with automatic hardware & IP checks.
How do I request an account for a family member or roommate?
You can inform us of anyone else playing in your household by filling out the form here. We will then make an exception so your accounts are not flagged by our system.
Will you ever wipe the server?
We do not plan to ever wipe the server. Reckoning is intended to be a permanent play server for the SWG Community. Something catastrophic would have to happen before we would ever wipe the server.
How do I report a bug, open a support ticket, or make a suggestion?
Visit the Support System and click "Add new ticket". From there, you will be able to open a ticket. Be sure to be as descriptive as possible."
