As of right now, Jedi Vs Bounty hunter fights are a 1v1 ordeal. Of course, unless they are Overt or City TEF'd. The Jedi and BH do not gain a normal TEF from each other in combat.

My question is this, do we move towards a more legitimate true to Live type TEF situation, where a normal TEF will be applied to the player once they initiate combat? More or less, it will be the same as it is now, only difference is being able to be attacked by outside forces. While being able to be attacked is one side of the coin, the other is being able to defend a group member or friend from an attacker, instead of just watching helplessly as they are slaughtered mercilessly.

What say you!

Well not strictly true it being 1v1 as many bounters can take the same mission and group together to hunt a single Jedi.

However whilst i love the idea of being able to help my lady if she's being attacked by a bounty hunter i think it would not be recieved well by the BH community and i daresay you'll hear a lot from them with regard to jedi already being unkillable (not strictly true btw)

If and this is a big if, you could rely on folks to be somewhat honourable and allow 1v1 fights and just use group assistance where a group of BH's were attacking i think it could bring a whole new level of pvp.

looking forward to reading the communities viewson this.

yea lets do it!!!!

Group pvp>1v1

once more players start going jedi knight, this is gonna happen anyway as BH will take the mission and take a member of the opposite faction to the jedi, so yea lets let all hell break loose and have a pure group pvp experience.

Can't really call it a 1v1 situation when Jedi get tagged by 2+ bounty hunters as I do. I was always tagged by 3+ in the Live SWG for my rank. I think we should leave it as it is and instead allow fellow jedi, provided they are the same faction and grouped with the bountied target, be able to assist 100% in the battle. Show them bounty hunters that even in high numbers, they have much to fear. We are the alpha class, they are not, they should never find a Jedi an easy target even with the 1k+ weapons (Jury) and a true part of the hunt is appreciating the effort and challenge it takes to beat a Jedi to the ground.

TL;DR - I agree with Fire on the Jedi/Faction bound TEF.

Also a overt squad leader hidden on the same planet gives the BH Uber buffs.

I agree with Mikki's idea, being able to get "hired" by a BH or a Jedi to run interference could be a blast! I had a lot of fun attacking a base so a couple of Jedi could attack a Sith, I let them have it out while I kept the NPC's off of the Jedi's back so they could concentrate on the Sith. I also had a blast diving into a group of Imp's to give a Jedi a chance to escape, I'm sure some of you remember that :)

I don't think having a SL in the group equals "Uber buffs", it does help because if the Jedi/Sith has force run 2 you have to have a speeder to even keep up plus they may have heal state, and no one else in the game has that ability as far as I know. I do know that doc/cm's can, but they rarely get into PvP until after the dust settles. I think there are enough people around that are willing to jump in and help out the targeted Jedi/Sith. IMHO this reflects a more real "Galaxy" situation. Besides the Imperial Propaganda Dept. put's out stories of groups of Rebels being "wiped out" all the time. :)

What if we let BHs take missions on other BHs? What if attacking jedi gave them that visibility? Or maybe we let FRS Jedi take missions on BHs who gained visibility (maybe by killing a non-FRS jedi?) and upon mission completion the jedi were awarded some amount of FRS xp?

I also like the idea that when a BH and jedi engage, both players become attack able to ALL players. This seems to be more a representation.of how it might really be... an onlooker could choose to help either party, for whatever reason.

I think the system of a group bounty TEF will help a bit.

EDIT: For those who do not know, it use to be that way. Bounty Hunters use to go out in what were the OG "Gank squads" by having a mission and would RELENTLESSLY hunt Jedi, but likewise, Jedi started to roll with 20-man groups or in a guild solo group so when you messed with one, you messed with all. This is where the TEF system came into play and literally caused day long fights on servers. Granted, we aren't going to have 100 vs. 100 but 20 man vs. 20 man is definitely not something to sneeze at!

I believe that BH should be able to take jedi mssions and Jury, I had been told you were after Violet the other day and that is why I did not come out. I was actually there to help her if she needed it. Did not realize you had my mission until the droid attacked me in which case I could no longer come down off the roof. I am nowhere near ready to be fighting just yet but getting close. I don't mind losing if I can give a good fight which at present I cannot and Jury you should know that. Am getting better so soon folks!

Group TEFs served little purpose in pre-cu other than helping people grief and gank others. That's why it was removed.

The rules for 14.1 jedi/BH interaction aren't even accurate at the moment, they are closer to group TEF than they are to true BH/Jedi TEF considering outside healing is allowed, BH/jedi are allowed to benefit from SL, etc.

I'll just address this comment. the group TEF system to me in a game that has a pvp mechanic is not about griefing ... it's about protecting your own. If you are grouped with other people, chances are you are friends with those other people if you are out doing stuff together, why shouldn't they be able to assist you being attacked. This is a WAR! In a war you don't say to your fellow faction mates ... oh sorry there is no tef you'll just have to die and be a good sport about it. You say .. one of him 3 of us, lets kick his ass!. To me ... the only time a pvp mechanic is griefing, is when it is locked to encounter, and especially where BH are concerned where BH can team up and all have a mission to make it 3vs1, that is griefing. TEF all the way .. you mess with someone you better have your own friends to back you up or don't fire the first shot.

I would like to see this, the mechanic of allowing 2 groups to fight one another due to a bounty would bring an interesting mechanic to PvP situations. I think it can lead to some escalated group mechanics we don't see right now. Jedi will group with one another to defend against BHs, BHs will come with 20-man groups knowing this... and there will be blood.

It doesn't matter what the intention of said mechanic was, all that matters is how it is regularly used for - and in this game, that was for griefing.

Griefing whom? the BH who wants to take the jedi's xp away, which is kind of griefing in itself but part of the game mechanic ... just as group tef was too late in the pre-cu. I don't see this as griefing at all it just means you come differently prepared. The only sad thing is in this version jedi aren't that strong anyway, a small group of 4 people could obliterate a jedi probably fairly easy if they are good players in live that wouldn't be the case. I recall some 20 man groups coming after me with my mission, and I also remember being in some of those 20 man groups.
