Reckoning is a Pre-CU Star Wars Galaxies (SWG) server, powered by SWGEmu, dedicated to recreating the authentic pre-CU experience that players loved. The server is maintained by a team of experienced players with a shared goal: to bring the Pre-CU version of SWG back to the masses while offering an exceptional experience for the community. Reckoning prides itself on staying true to the core mechanics of the Pre-CU era, ensuring that the gameplay remains as authentic as possible. Our ultimate goal is to expand upon that experience, adding new items, features, content, and quests, but never altering the foundational aspects of the game that our players cherish.
Reckoning is one of the longest-running, most stable, and AGPL-compliant SWG servers available today. With a history of proven stability, we are committed to providing a safe, enjoyable, and consistent environment for players. Our community has grown significantly over the years, and we look forward to continuing this growth for many years to come.
Post Pre-CU Features
While Reckoning remains committed to the Pre-CU experience, we recognize that some features introduced after the Pre-CU era brought valuable additions to the game. We’ve carefully integrated some post Pre-CU elements that enhance the gameplay without compromising the core experience. These additions include:
- Post Pre-CU Housing: Expanded housing options to create more diverse and personalized spaces for players.
- Post Pre-CU Speeders: New types of speeders for faster travel around the galaxy.
- Post Pre-CU Furniture: A variety of new furniture items for decorating player homes.
- Post Pre-CU Armors and Items: Additional armor and items that enrich the gear system while maintaining balance.
- /rotateFurniture Commands: A feature allowing players to rotate furniture using yaw, pitch, roll, and reset commands for greater customization.
- Player Structure and Vendor Packup: The ability for players to pack up and relocate structures, including vendors, without losing items or progress.
These features provide quality-of-life improvements while ensuring that the essence of the Pre-CU experience remains intact.
Jedi System
The Jedi system in Reckoning is designed to be a challenging and rewarding experience. Unlike many other servers, Reckoning offers a unique approach to unlocking the Jedi class. Upon character creation, players are randomly assigned a set of variables that determine their path to becoming a Jedi. Some players may find it easier to progress toward becoming a Jedi, while others may need to work harder to unlock this powerful path. The journey to becoming a Jedi is not easy, and that’s intentional – it should take time, effort, and dedication.
- Jedi Unlock: The path to unlocking Jedi status is complex, with various milestones and achievements to reach before players can begin their journey. The system is designed to preserve the rarity and prestige of the Jedi class.
- Knight Trials & Force Ranking System: Reckoning was the first server to implement the full Jedi Knight Trials, just as they were seen in the live version of SWG. The Force Ranking System (FRS) is also in place, allowing players to advance in rank through voting. With each rank advancement, players gain access to unique modifiers, force abilities, titles, and robes. The FRS system on Reckoning is one of the most advanced and immersive available.
Bounty Hunting
Reckoning fully implements the Jedi visibility system and bounty hunting mechanics. Bounty Hunters can actively pursue Jedi players, adding an extra layer of excitement and danger to the gameplay. The bounty system is player-driven, with players being able to place bounties on other players upon their death. This allows bounty hunters to have additional targets beyond just Jedi, encouraging a dynamic and ever-evolving PvP environment.
PvP System
Reckoning uses the Pre-Publish 13 TEF (Temporary Enemy Flag) PvP system, along with a custom player city alignment system. Players have two PvP status options when joining a faction: Covert (Undercover) or Overt (Special Forces). These statuses determine how players interact with others in PvP scenarios, adding layers of strategy and depth to factional warfare. This system is designed to encourage player interaction and factional conflicts, with consequences for every action taken.
For more detailed information on the PvP system, you can visit: Reckoning PvP System.
Buffs
Buffs play a crucial role in Pre-CU combat, and Reckoning ensures that this important aspect is preserved. Enhancement terminals are scattered across the galaxy to provide basic buffs to players, particularly in lower-level areas. While these buffs help new players get started, they will never be as powerful as the buffs provided by other players. This maintains the importance of player interaction and collaboration in the game’s economy and combat system.
Crafting
Crafting in SWG was one of the game’s strongest features, and Reckoning ensures that this system remains unaltered. Some notable improvements to crafting include:
- New Craftable Items: With more items being added continuously, the crafting system remains fresh and exciting.
- Resource Stacks: Resource stack sizes have been increased to one million, allowing for greater resource management.
- Factory Crates: Factory crate sizes have been increased to 1,000, improving the efficiency of large-scale crafting operations.
- Item Renaming: Crafters can now rename the items they craft, providing more customization and personalization in the crafting process.
Player Cities & Housing
Player cities in Reckoning are designed to align with the current server population. Players can now align their cities with factions, creating faction-based city dynamics. This alignment results in PvP consequences for players of the opposing faction who enter these cities, adding a layer of strategy to city placement and factional warfare.
- Structures: Reckoning increases the storage limits for all player structures, allowing for more items and a more personalized experience.
- Post Pre-CU House Pack-Up: Players can now move their houses and structures to new locations anywhere in the galaxy while retaining all their items, which makes the housing system much more flexible and user-friendly.

Events
The Reckoning team regularly hosts in-game events, often on weekends, which helps build a strong sense of community. These events bring players together for exciting activities, from PvP battles to crafting challenges and beyond. Players are also encouraged to host their own events, fostering a sense of creativity and player-driven content.
Hardware & Backup
Reckoning runs on a high-end dedicated server, ensuring the best possible gameplay experience and room for future growth. The server specs include:
- Location: Eastern North America
- Processor: Intel Xeon E5-1650v3 3.50 GHz
- Memory: 128GB DDR4 DDR4 2133MHz
- Disks: 2x 480GB SSD / 500GB Backup
To ensure the safety and security of player data, Reckoning performs regular backups.
